Junior Rifle ProgramThe Junior Rifle Program at Palmyra Sportsmen's Assoc. is one of the best youth smallbore (22 Cal.) and Air Rifle programs in the nation. Our program is open to anyone interested in learning to shoot. Most equipment can be provided by the club for new shooters to get started. The program will teach new shooters the basics of rifle shooting and how to shoot in the four common shooting positions used in a variety of rifle shooting sports: prone, sitting, kneeling, and offhand (standing). New shooters will move onto learning the next shooting position after demonstrating adequate skill in prior less difficult positions. As skill improves, shooters will be introduced to various competitions, and learn more advanced techniques to improve their shooting skills and scores. A Junior shooter is defined (by the NRA) as age 20 or younger. A shooter can compete as a Junior through December 31 of the year they turn age 20.
