Palmyra Sportsmen's Assoc.

The Palmyra Sportsmen's Association participates in an indoor smallbore rifle league against other local clubs.  This is a team competition, and the competitor must be a member of the club they are shooting for.  This league is open to all ages, adults and juniors alike.  Matches are held on Friday nights against two teams (home and away).  The match is run in block time format to shoot 60 shots (20 prone, 20 kneeling, 20 standing). 

The scoring members for a team are identified after all competitor's targets have been scored.  The top shooters for each individual position (prone, standing, kneeling) and top shooters for overall create 4 separate team matches - it is possible for a shooter's prone score to be included on the prone team, but their overall score not be included on the overall team.  The aggregate score for each match is compared team vs team, and the higher scoring team gets a point for that match.  A team winning standing, kneeling, and overall versus a team winning prone will result in a 3-1 score.
