The mission of the Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) program is to foster, educate and guide youth archers in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bow hunting practices. Palmyra Sportsmen's Association is proud to provide this unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States. Under the direction of Head Coach Frank Baird, our S3DA program is a next-step initiative to follow our Youth Winter Archery Program and will bridge the gap from beginner target archery to more advanced opportunities such as competitive target archery and bow hunting. This is a very active program, with over 25 team members, 5 nationally certified coaches, and a full support team of parents. As this is an advanced next-step program, archers are encouraged to have their own equipment to participate.
Archers in the Palmyra S3DA Program compete in divisions based on their age, gender, and equipment used. Archers in the older age groups are eligible for college scholarships opportunities based on their performance at S3DA events, regardless at a local, regional, state or national level.

The S3DA has three archery disciplines based on the rules of their partner organizations.
The Indoor Target season runs from mid December to early March each year. It is based on National Field Archery Association (NFAA) indoor target round rules. Archers shoot a round of 30 arrows at a single-spot or 5-spot target face at a distance of 10 or 20 yards, depending on the archer's age.
The Outdoor 3D season runs from mid March to June each year and is based on Archery Shooters Association (ASA) rules. Archers shoot a round of 20 3D targets at varying distances in an outdoor walk through course.
The Outdoor Target season run simultaneous to the Outdoor 3D season, and is based on World Archery rules. Archers shoot a 36 arrow round at a single-spot target. Outdoor Target has the longest distances of the three disciplines.
Practices are currently held every Tuesday night at 6:00 PM in the PSA Indoor Archery Range, although this may vary depending on range schedule and coach availability. We invite anyone interested in checking out the Palmyra S3DA Team to join us for practice any time! Membership to the National S3DA Organization is required to participate in regional, state and national competitions. You can join here. Make sure you select Palmyra Sportsmen's Association as your club.
